Dear Friends of Balson Butchers, 

It is with a heavy heart that we send this email.  After fifteen years of business here in the USA, we are closing our doors.  We sincerely thank all of you who have encouraged and supported us over the years.  Your continued loyalty has meant the world to us and it has been an honor to serve you.

Unfortunately, the covid pandemic presented many challenges that have been difficult to overcome.  Shipping logistics became increasingly challenging, many of our brick and mortar retail locations, pubs, and shops have closed, and the cost of materials and labor have drastically increased.  While we have been absorbing the costs of keeping our online shop open the past couple of years, it is sad to say that it is no longer viable to continue doing so.
 
We recently stopped accepting online orders and have since received many emails and calls.  We will do our best to respond, but please be patient with us through this process.  We are a small family owned business and have continued to operate in that capacity.  This decision has not come about lightly, as the business has been so close to our hearts for many years.  It has kept us connected to our own UK family, and has allowed us to do the same for others by bringing them a taste of home.

This has no bearing on our family's butcher shop in the UK, which is still going strong after 508 years!  If you ever find yourself in the West Country of England, please come and visit our shop in Bridport, Dorset.  You are very welcome!
